SG Promotes Environmental Preservation Program to Dozens of Rembang Millennials and Community
Rembang, August 4, 2022 – PT Semen Gresik (PTSG) promotes environmental protection programs that have been implemented consistently by the company to the environmental community and millennials of Rembang Regency at Pendopo Joglo Tani and Edupark Pabrik Rembang PTSG on Thursday (4/8).
The 20 community members were invited to tour the company's biodiversity conservation area while also getting exposure to environmentally friendly B3 waste management.
Senior Manager of Communications and CSR of PTSG, Dharma Sunyata, said that Semen Gresik is committed to consistently preserving the environment around the factory as a form of social and environmental responsibility to society.
“We will continue to develop environmental conservation to have a positive impact in the future, as well as the use of B3 waste as Alternative Fuel & Raw Material (AFR) to create a sustainable green industry," Dharma Sunyata explained to the press.
Apart from directly seeing the environmental conditions of the factory by observing the development of endangered trees planted in the plant nursery area, the community members also received more information about the benefits of the cement industry.
"Hopefully we can be consistent in managing environmental protection both in preserving nature and utilizing waste, as well as using eco-friendly alternative energy," he said.
The representative of the environmental and millennial community, Mardila Budi Lia revealed that the outreach activities of this program are expected to be able to maintain the sustainability of the forest and the environment around the factory.
"We are happy to be invited to visit Semen Gresik because we can discuss and gain more insight about environmental conservation programs, especially for me as a resident in the ring 1 area of Pasucen Village", Lia said.
